Recreation Leader I – Performing Arts Center 

The Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) is seeking a part-time Box Office Staff Member. The LPAC, which consists of a 758 main stage proscenium theater, and a 100 seat black box theater, presents over 200 performances annually.

Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Recreation Programs Coordinator, the Recreation Leader I – Performing Arts Center will assist in a variety of tasks associated with The Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) operations and activities. In addition to performing day-to-day box office operations, the position assists the Recreation Program Coordinator to provide quality customer service and experiences for patrons, program participants and artists that visit LPAC over the course of the season.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains high standards of customer service and professionalism when dealing with all patrons and staff.
  • Has knowledge of LPAC ticketing policies and maintains an enthusiastic and positive rapport with patrons by providing assistance and information with respect and friendliness.
  • Communicates with LPAC’s technical, marketing and box office staff to coordinate front-of-house activities with production related needs.
  • Is knowledgeable about all LPAC performances, education programs, activities and leased events in order to competently discuss them with patrons.
  • Assists in event coordination for show preparation.
  • Assists with editing and production of print materials related to season subscriptions, performances and community engagement.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Friendly, versatile and outgoing personality
  • College level courses in performing arts and general knowledge of live theatre is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and create a rapport with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government and other external sources in an articulate and persuasive manner telephonically and in-person.
  • Applicants must be willing to work weekends and evening hours. 

Box Office Hours:

Monday-Friday 11:30 AM - 6 PM, Saturday 11:30 AM – 4 PM; Sunday hours in conjunction with performances.

Extended hours will occur on performance dates.

Staff often works outside of this schedule to accommodate special events, rentals, hospitality and Arts For Youth performances.

Salary: $11.57- $13.03 per hour
