Lancaster Performing Arts Center 2017/2018 Season Opens with Legendary Trio, The Lettermen, September 15
The Lettermen, one of the most enduring harmonic trios in show business history, will take the stage for one night only at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center on Friday, September 15.
The Lettermen trio consists of Tony Butala (original founding member), Donovan Tea (member since 1984) and Bobby Poynton (joined in 1989, and recently returned to the group). From their first hit “The Way You Look Tonight” more than 50 years ago, to today, The Lettermen have been defined by seamless harmonies and beautiful vocals. Eighteen gold albums worldwide, scores of top singles, and generations of listeners are all testaments to the group’s popularity.
Their well-known love ballads such as “Goin’ Out of My Head,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “When I Fall in Love,” “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” and “Love is a Many Splendored Thing,” have a charm which continues to stand the test of time. Tony Butala has stated that the current blend of members is, “the best combination of voices, and best sounding group since the original trio."
