A Boo-Fully Good Time Awaits on The BLVD

2017 BooLVD Halloween and Harvest Festival to Feature New Hours and Activities

Post Date:10/26/2017 3:30 PM

The City of Lancaster invites residents and visitors alike to attend the eighth annual BooLVD Halloween and Harvest Festival. The fun, family-friendly event will feature new hours this year. It will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 28 on The BLVD (between Sierra Highway and Genoa Avenue) in Downtown Lancaster. Everyone is invited to dress up and come enjoy the many kid-friendly attractions.

All new BLVD treat trails will offer multiple candy collection stations, featured at various locations along The BLVD beginning at 1 p.m. (while supplies last). Groups and families are invited to participate in the annual BooLVD Costume Contest. Infants and children up to 12 years old (with an accompanying adult) may enter in the “cutest,” “scariest,” and most “creative” categories. Groups of two to seven people of all ages may enter to win “best group.” Signups for all contestants will be accepted from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on South Ehrlich Avenue. Winners will be announced at 4:15 p.m. on the BeX Bandstand Stage.

Back by popular demand will be a corn maze for the little ones and an expanded pumpkin patch for those still needing to prepare jack-o'-lanterns. AV Dance Studio 81 will once again offer their kid-friendly haunted house which draws young ones year after year. In addition, there will be Halloween themed music and a magician to entertain, and plenty of autumn themed activities for the entire family to enjoy. Harvest-style attractions will include carnival games, vendors, cookie decorating, pumpkin decorating, and ghostly train rides.

Following the festival, the Lancaster Performing Arts Center will host the final showing in the Halloween Family Movie Night series at 6 p.m. for a nominal fee. Families may extend their BooLVD experience and enjoy Ghostbusters 2, complete with popcorn!

The festival is designed with families in mind, keeping the “scare factor” tame enough to intrigue, but not terrify the littlest trick-or-treaters. There will be so much to see and do at this year’s BooLVD Halloween and Harvest Festival; attendees are guaranteed to have an outrageously good time — without frightening their budget.
