Lancaster Engage FINAL LogoThis week, the City of Lancaster launched its new citizen engagement portal – Lancaster Engage. Lancaster Engage is the City’s newest approach to community building and starting conversations with residents and business owners about important local topics such as homelessness, in order to encourage community collaboration. Ultimately, the City looks to bring about positive change and strengthen the Lancaster community via this new engagement tool.

“The City of Lancaster is continually seeking new ways to connect with the community regarding key topics as they pertain to our City as a whole,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Lancaster Engage offers us, as a municipality, the opportunity to interact with residents and business owners, and provides a forum in which they can contribute invaluable input – in a dual effort to make Lancaster an even better place to call home.”

The City of Lancaster invites the community to be part of the conversation via the Lancaster Engage portal at While there, residents are encouraged to provide feedback regarding homelessness in Lancaster, an inaugural topic for Lancaster Engage, and a subject that has been identified as a top priority by the Lancaster City Council. Additionally, community members can learn more about the City’s overall homeless initiative, including the Lancaster Community Homelessness Plan. Links to the Plan’s survey and vital resources for those experiencing homelessness are also provided.

While homelessness is of great importance to the City of Lancaster, Lancaster Engage connects the community to a number of other efforts as well, including the Lancaster Library – Library Needs Assessment; Nixle, the City’s emergency notifications system; the Inform Lancaster app; and coming soon, the Lancaster Television (LTV) community survey.
