CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION:
The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor. The Commission’s responsibilities and authority are governed by Title 2, Chapter 2.24 of the Lancaster Municipal Code. Under the provisions of the City’s Municipal Code, the Planning Commission is responsible for making decisions on land use applications, including conditional use permits and tentative tract/parcel maps. The Commission also reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council on general plan amendments, zone changes, and zoning code amendments. Decisions rendered by the Planning Commission are appealable to the City Council under Chapter 2.44 of the Municipal Code.

A study session is normally held on the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Planning Department Conference Room at Lancaster City Hall. Planning Commission meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, with special meetings scheduled as needed.
