Business owners are required under Lancaster Municipal Code 5.04.030 to make application for renewal a minimum of thirty (30) calendar days prior to the expiration date of the current license. Renewal notices are mailed as a courtesy to the business owner.
The City of Lancaster is happy to announce that businesses can now renew their license online. Prior to renewing online, read the instructions below, which will ensure submission of a complete renewal application and timely receipt of license.
Step 1 - SET UP ACCELA USER ACCOUNT (REQUIRED)
Set up an Accela User Account in the Citizen Access Portal.
Instructions on how to set up an Accela User Account and renew a license online are available here.
Follow this link to access the Citizen Access Portal: https://aca.accela.com/lancaster.
Step 2 – EMAIL REQUEST TO LINK ACCOUNT (REQUIRED)
Once an Accela User Account is created, please email BusinessOnline@cityoflancasterca.org and request that the user account be linked to the appropriate license.
Please include in the email:
- exact email address used when registering the Accela User Account
- license number
- business name
- owner contact info
Accounts will be linked within 48 hours, except requests made on holidays or weekends. Accounts will be linked on the next business day.
Step 3 - RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS
Please make sure you have read the instructions above to renew a license and you have all the necessary documents to complete your application.
Businesses requiring annual Livescan:
- Liquor Store
- Mini-Mart/ Convenience Market (ABC 20 or 21 license and is under 10,000 SF)
- Smoke Shop
- Tobacco Shop
- Hookah Lounge
- Internet Lounge/ Internet Café
Livescan documents must be uploaded at the time of renewal application.
Online Renewal Restrictions
Renewals for the following businesses must be made in person at City Hall. Annual live scans are required for to apply for a renewal.
