Employees hired on or after 07/1/12 shall receive a benefit of up to $1,200 for City provided medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Dental care benefits are provided through MetLife. Benefits include preventative services, basic care, major services and orthodontic treatment.
The City contracts with MetLIfe for vision care. Benefits include eye exams as well as frames and lenses.
Long Term Disability Insurance
In the event you are unable to work due to an off the job injury or illness, you may be eligible for long term disability benefits. The City pays the premium for all full-time employees.
In the event of your death, your beneficiary will receive $100,000 or one (1) times your annual salary, whichever is greater. The City pays the premium for all full-time employees.
California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS)
Retirement benefits are provided under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS). Employees hired on or after 07/1/12 will receive either the 2%@60 or 2%@62 formula based upon employee’s PERS status.
401 (a) Deferred Compensation
The City contributes an amount equal to a percentage of your salary based on your classification. The plan is administered through ICMA Retirement Corporation.
457 Deferred Compensation
A Voluntary tax-deferred program is available through ICMA.
Employee Assistance Program
Services are provided by MetLife.
CalPERS Long Term Care Program
This is a voluntary self-funded program that assists with long-term care expenses including in-home services, assisted living facilities or in a nursing home. The City pays up to $90 per month for employees enrolled in this program.
Retirement Health Savings (RHS) Plan
Effective 07/1/12, employees enrolled on or after that date will have a five year vesting period for benefits under this plan.
