Ice Cream Social 2024

Lancaster, CA. August 1, 2024 – Join us at the Western Hotel Museum during The BLVD Market on Thursday, August 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. for our annual Ice Cream Social! Guests can enjoy free hand-dipped ice cream bars from local specialty ice cream vendor Sweet Spoon Creamery while supplies last and listen to live music at the Western Hotel Museum’s backyard space. After enjoying a sweet treat, immerse yourself in the history of Lancaster by touring its oldest standing building. Built in 1888, this historic hotel displays various photographs and artifacts telling the history of Lancaster. This social event taps into the past and traditions while inviting the community back to the landmark hotel.

As one of the most visible and vibrant links to Antelope Valley's history, preserving and reintroducing tradition and history is essential for the Western Hotel Museum. The building serves as a historical hub, housing photographs and artifacts of the people who built, worked, and lived in early Lancaster. This historic hotel has served the Antelope Valley community approximately since 1888, even through changing events and responsibilities. The various items displayed throughout the building provide a sense of nostalgia for present-day visitors. Photographs of early Lancaster, prehistoric and Native American material, household items from the 1900s, and more will give guests a memorable experience.
