Echoes of Nature explores the practice between humanity and the natural world. Through three diverse yet interconnected pieces, the exhibition delves into themes of self, representation, language, and technology. It underscores the importance of self-reflection, the influence of language, and the role of technology in shaping our understanding of the natural world and ourselves within it.
Nathaniel Cas Ancheta is a Filipino-American contemporary artist, designer, and curator, who is celebrated for his large-scale outdoor installations that delve into identity, self, representation, and place. He earned his Master of Fine Arts from Art Center College of Design in 2016, including studies in Paris, where his work began to embrace themes of identity and introspection, leading to more installation-based projects. Shifting from introspection to extrospection, exploring infrastructure, participation, and interaction, he began producing significant works engaging individuals, the public, and the environment. In 2019, Ancheta co-founded Art In Residence, a 501(c)3 organization in Antelope Valley, CA, focusing on site-responsive art and community engagement. He continues to live and work in Lancaster, CA, creating socially engaging works that blend art and design, exploring the relationship between place and self.
