Lancaster, CA. April 30, 2025 – The City of Lancaster, in coordination with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), is sharing an important update for the Avenue J Interchange Improvements project.
Beginning May 5, 2025, the Northbound Avenue J On-Ramp will be closed for a long-term, 100-calendar-day period to expedite construction and help keep the project on schedule. The closure is expected to continue through August 12, 2025.
Launched in October 2023, the Avenue J Interchange Improvements project is a major infrastructure investment aimed at widening ramps, improving pavement, upgrading traffic signals, and enhancing overall mobility in one of Lancaster’s key gateway corridors. Scheduled for completion in Spring 2026, the project will support economic growth, enhance roadway safety, and improve access to the emerging Lancaster Health District.
