Mayor R. Rex Parris Welcomes President Trump to Southern California
Mayor Shares Lancaster’s Innovative Efforts to Build a City for Everyone
City of Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris had the honor of welcoming President Donald J. Trump to California on the tarmac at Los Angeles International Airport, today at 3 p.m. With Air Force One as the backdrop, Mayor Parris spoke briefly with the President about the City of Lancaster’s efforts to support the development of affordable housing, partner with defense industry leaders to advance America’s military strength, and use clean energy innovation to further America’s independence from foreign entanglements.
“I am honored to represent the City of Lancaster in welcoming our President to California. President Trump has been fighting for communities across America to combat crime, create strong middle class jobs, and prioritize the interests of Americans,” said Mayor Parris. “Lancaster has a long record of achievements; from reducing crime and implementing one of the most comprehensive public safety camera networks in the nation, to fighting homelessness and developing clean energy.”
Mayor Parris and the City of Lancaster received a Green Power Leadership Award from the Environmental Protection Agency in 2019, in recognition of the City’s leadership, overall strategy, and impact on the green power market. Lancaster was the only organization to be awarded with a 2019 Green Power Community award.
Mayor Parris was joined at the airport today by City of Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu and other dignitaries to welcome the President. Later this evening, the Mayor will continue the conversation at a private event in Los Angeles.
