This pandemic has changed everyone's lives, some more than others. We understand the economic and emotional toll that an event like this can have on a person and community. We believe that when this is over Lancaster will be an even stronger and better community.
In the meantime, we know that many small local businesses are struggling to stay afloat. There are numerous resources available for business owners who are suffering hardships. So much so, that we are confident that small businesses that were successful before this pandemic will be successful after. We have created a handy Business Toolkit, which contains a number of resources in one convenient place. Please click here to view.
This week, the Stand Strong Business Recovery Loan program was approved at the council meeting to assist eligible small business. More information and the application can be found on the City's website at cityoflancasterca.org/standstrongloan.
In order to best serve the business community, we are working to create an internal task force that will be educated on all the resources available to local businesses. Owners will be able to reach out directly to someone on this force to help guide them through their individual recovery process. More information will be forthcoming.
As a community member, there are so many ways you can support our small businesses; from ordering takeout to purchasing gift certificates and ordering online from our local stores. Please continue to support them during their time of need. Visit our website, cityoflancasterca.org/takeout, for a list and interactive map of all the businesses that have take out, delivery and drive-thru available.
We encourage everyone to follow the City of Lancaster and sign-up for email updates at cityoflancasterca.org/coronavirus. We will continue to update the site as new information becomes available.
In closing, Pastor Paul Chappell joined me this week to say a prayer for our community. View the video here.
