WHAT: Checkmate Chess Club

WHEN: Every Thursday from 3:30-5:00PM (starting August 19th)

Join chess coach Ms. Daa for the Checkmate Chess Club, a weekly get-together where players can match wits and share smiles over the board. All ages and skill-levels are welcome to learn and play the wonderful game of chess in a supportive atmosphere. There is no sign-up required and chess sets will be available.

Daa (day) Anne Mahowald has been teaching chess for over 25 years. She is one of the Top 100 U.S. Women 'Quick Chess' players and a national speaker on Chess in Education issues. Ms. Daa was named the 2008 Minnesota Chess Coach of the Year. She possesses a BS in Math Ed and an MA in Ed Psych - both from the University of Nebraska - and a Mainstream Teacher of ESL Students certificate from Minnesota's Hamline University.
