The Development Services Department provides leadership, management, administration, and coordination of a wide array of municipal services. The citywide infrastructure is administered, built, and maintained through department programs, which have their own set of goals and performance objectives. The Department also provides staff support to the City of Lancaster Planning Commission and the Architectural & Design Commission.
The Department is overseen by administrative staff who provide general administrative coordination and support among all divisions, the City Manager’s Office, and all other City departments. Its responsibilities include budget preparation and control, and acting as liaison between the community and Development Services divisions.
The Department and has four divisions: City Engineering, Community Development, Capital Engineering, and Public Works. Each division is comprised of sections for the coordination of the daily operational duties. The sections and respective divisions are identified as follows:
