Throughout 2010, the stretch of Lancaster Boulevard now known as The BLVD underwent a dramatic transformation through a complete streetscape redesign. A new street, lighting, street furniture, traffic pattern, landscaping, and more has helped bring about the renaissance of The BLVD as the heart of downtown Lancaster, a central hub of activity and community.
There's always something to do on The BLVD. At Regency BLVD Cinemas, patrons enjoy independent films alongside blockbuster hits in plush recliner seating. At Underground Bowl, guests can not only bowl, but also play pool, air hockey, arcade games, or book the VIP room for a private party, all while enjoying access to a full bar and menu. Craving culture? Head to the Lancaster Museum of Art & History (MOAH), a 20,000-square-foot facility which features rotating art exhibitions as well as lectures and children's classes, or take in a show at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center. Enjoy weekly farmers' markets every Thursday year-round, as well as annual special events such as the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix, Celebrate America on The BLVD, the BooLVD Halloween & Harvest Festival, and A Magical BLVD Christmas.
The BLVD also offers a wide variety of shopping options. From one-of-a-kind local art and framing at Graphic Experience to unique treasures at On The BLVD Antiques and hard-to-find records at Voodoo Vinyl, The BLVD has something for everyone.
When all these activities have worked up an appetite, check out a number of local eateries with fare ranging from a traditional deli at the Brooklyn Deli to Italian and Mediterranean at the Lemon Leaf Cafe. Other favorites include Olives Mediterranean Café, featuring Armenian-style cuisine; Chinese fare at Little Szechwan; Mexican and Salvadorean cuisine at Don Sal Cocina & Cantina, Pueblo Viejo and Teclena Flores; Katz and Jammers, a '50s-style diner; light eats and smoothies at JuiceBox; and Thai cuisine at The Thai. Head to Pour d' Vino Wine Bar & Lounge for wine and a delicious meal, and then to Buckle & Boots Watering Hole to enjoy a drink and live country music.
The BLVD is also a premier destination for personal and professional services. Pamper yourself with spa and salon treatments at a variety of salons, including Panache, Bella West Spa & Salon, The Face and Body Place, and others. Get in shape at In Perfect Balance Pilates Studio, AV Dance Studio '81 or The Yoga Roots. The BLVD also offers a wide range of professional services, including accounting, attorneys, banking, insurance, and more.
