BLVD Banner-Hometown Heroes 2011-12The City of Lancaster created the "Hometown Hero Banner Program" in an effort to celebrate local military heroes who have served our Nation to maintain our freedom. Family members and friends nominated the first set of Hometown Heroes in the early fall of 2011. Their pictures were prominently featured along The BLVD to show our thanks for their tireless efforts for this country.

“This program has been of particular importance to me since I was elected as mayor,” stated Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “We felt it would be appropriate to wait for The BLVD to be in full swing before launching this effort, ensuring everything’s in place to best represent and honor our local heroes. With The BLVD complete and readied for a summer filled with activities, I can’t think of a better time to showcase the best of the best right here at home."
