Housing Programs

Housing Improvement Program 2Keeping our community vibrant and beautiful is of central importance to the City of Lancaster. To help reach this goal, the City is now offering grants for Disabled  Citizens and Disabled Veterans for improvements of residential and mobile home properties.

The CDBG Disability Grant Program and the CDBG Disabled Veteran Accessibility Grant Program ("Program") is a housing program designed to assist very low to lower income households in the City of Lancaster, by providing grants to retrofit principal residences to be physically accessible for disabled individuals to be released from medical facilities and for Veterans who acquired disabilities during wartime and are in need of accessibility renovations.

Residents interested in participating in the program are urged to apply. Applications can be obtained and returned in person to the Housing and Revitalization Department at City Hall, located at 44933 North Fern Avenue.  Applications can also be downloaded here. For further information or questions, please contact Clark Lien at 723-5942.

CDBG Disabled Accessibility and Disabled Veteran Accessibility Grant Program

The Program is designed to assist very low to lower income households in the City of Lancaster, providing grants to retrofit principal residences to be physically accessible for disabled individuals and for Veterans who have a physical disability. 

Requirements:

  • Owner Occupied, Single Family Residences and Mobile Homes
  • Proof of Disability (Physician Statement)
  • Total household income cannot exceed 80% of the area median

Emergency Rehabilitation Grant Program

The Program is designed to assist very low income households within the City of Lancaster, providing grants to address emergencies to the structure of the principal residences. 

Requirements:

  • Owner Occupied, Single Family Residence
  • Total household income cannot exceed 50% of the area median

Down Payment Assistance Program

The Down Payment Assistance Program (“Program”) is a housing program designed to assist very low to lower income Veterans purchase a home within the city limits of Lancaster.
