Rocio Castellanos was elected to the Lancaster City Council on April 14, 2026. A proud Lancaster resident for more than 23 years, she brings years of hands-on experience in public service, public education, and the nonprofit sector.

Throughout her career, Castellanos has worked closely with families, local organizations, and community partners to connect residents with resources, services, and opportunities that improve their quality of life. She has been actively involved in several community efforts, including School Site Council and the Homeless Coalition, and has worked alongside nonprofits and local businesses to strengthen support for residents across the Antelope Valley.

In her current role, Castellanos works directly with community members every day, helping individuals and families access essential resources while leading programs focused on health, wellness, and community support. She organizes community events, supports families in need, and helps ensure residents can connect with services that make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

Castellanos also played an active role in outreach efforts during the most recent U.S. Census, helping ensure local families were counted and represented. She currently serves on the board of a local nonprofit organization and remains deeply engaged in efforts that uplift underserved communities.

She earned her degree in Sociology from California State University, Northridge, and is widely recognized for her advocacy, service, and commitment to the community.
As a Councilmember, Castellanos is committed to listening, taking action, and working every day to build a stronger, more inclusive Lancaster.
