Cedric White was elected to the Lancaster City Council on April 14, 2026. A dedicated community leader and entrepreneur, he brings more than 25 years of experience in public service, education, and youth advocacy to the City Council.

Born and raised in Compton, California, Councilmember White’s journey is defined by a deep-seated commitment to uplifting others. A standout athlete at Dorsey High School, he earned a football scholarship to the University of Washington before graduating from North Carolina A&T. His athletic career reached the highest level when he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams and later played for the Miami Dolphins.

Following his professional football career, White returned to California with a mission to serve. He spent over two decades working to improve the lives of others, first as a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District and later as a probation officer for Los Angeles County. In these roles, he specialized in youth and adult rehabilitation, working within probation camps and juvenile halls to create pathways for second chances and long-term success.

In addition to his public service, White is a successful entrepreneur and local employer. He founded White’s Transport in 2006 and serves as the CEO of White’s Concrete Construction, a company he established in 2011. Through his work in residential and commercial construction, he has played a direct role in building the region’s infrastructure while providing vital jobs for local residents.

His passion for the Antelope Valley led him to found the AV Community Uplift Foundation (AVCUF) in 2015. As the leader of this 501(c)(3) nonprofit, White works to serve at-promise youth. The foundation provides mentoring, sports programs, and educational resources, such as afterschool programs, all aimed at reducing negative law enforcement contact and saving lives.

As a Councilmember, White is committed to leveraging his unique background in athletics, business, and public safety to foster a resilient, prosperous, and supportive community for all Lancaster residents.
