LOW-INCOME SEWER SERVICE CHARGE REBATE APPLICATION

WHY IS THE CITY OFFERING THIS REBATE?

At the August 11, 2026 City Council meeting, Council approved an increase to the maximum sewer service charge from $78.00 to $164.70 per Sewage Unit. This is an increase of up to $86.70 per Sewage Unit.

At the direction of City Council, the City is providing a Low-Income Sewer Service Charge Rebate of $86.70 to help offset this additional cost for eligible applicants.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

• You are the property owner receiving the sewer service charge.
• Your total household income is at or below the applicable 2026 Los Angeles County HCD Low-Income limit (see table below)

  OR

• you qualify for a public assistance program (Cal Fresh/SNAP, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, SSI, WIC, LIHEAP, etc)

Proof of information and documentation listed above will be required for approval.

The City of Lancaster will use the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) 2026 State Income Limits for Los Angeles County. These limits are effective June 23, 2026.

Your total annual household income must be at or below the amount listed for your household size.
