Love Your City Clean-Ups

Love Your City is a community-wide initiative led by residents, local groups, and faith based organizations who are working together to make Lancaster stronger, cleaner, and more connected. By uniting public and private partners, the effort highlights the power of collaboration and the pride people have in their hometown. With support from City resources, the initiative builds on community energy and leadership to create lasting, visible change across Lancaster.

LYC Clean-Up Schedule

January 17, 2026

The third community clean-up will coincide with the City’s MLK Day of Service celebration and will be our most ambitious effort to date! In addition to a neighborhood cleanup, there will be a desert cleanup, community paint anti-graffiti mural, block wall painting to cover patch work graffiti removals, park beautification, and other service opportunities at various locations throughout the City.

Meet at Desert Vinyard Church on January 17, 8 a.m. Lunch provided at 12 p.m.

Wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothes for walking, painting, and working outside.

Pre-registration is not required, however, for planning purposes, we kindly ask that you and/or your group RSVP with your approximate participation count at (661) 723-6195 or via email to handrews@cityoflancasterca.gov.

November 8, 2025

The second community clean-up extended northward in the area between 10^th-15^th Street West and Avenue J-8 to Lancaster Boulevard.

Grace Chapel was our rallying point where we checked-in volunteers, provided personal protective equipment (PPE), and served lunch.

Over 500 volunteers and staff participated, 47.6 tons of waste was collected, 2,071,707 square feet of vacant property was cleared, and nearly 630 residential properties were visited.

Totals to date are over 1,000 participants, nearly 90 tons of waste collected, nearly 3,000,000 SF of vacant property cleared, and nearly 1,030 homes visited!

October 4, 2025

The first community clean-up covered a handful of locations in the area between 10th-20th Street West and Avenue K to Avenue J-8.

Grace Chapel was our rallying point where we checked-in volunteers, provided personal protective equipment (PPE), and served lunch.

Over 500 volunteers participated, 42.18 tons of waste was collected, graffiti was removed at 15 locations, 866,235 square feet of vacant property was cleared, and nearly 400 residential properties were visited.
