City Council Member Angela Underwood-Jacobs to resign December 3, 2019

The City of Lancaster is accepting applications to fill an unscheduled City Council vacancy. At the October 22nd City Council meeting, Council Member Angela Underwood-Jacobs announced her resignation, effective December 3, 2019, as she is running for California's 25th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. Mayor R. Rex Parris is seeking to appoint a new Council Member at the December 10, 2019, City Council meeting. 

“Angela possesses an unwavering dedication to enhancing our community and has been a great asset to the City during her four and a half years of service as a City Council Member. This is an exciting time for her and I wish her continued success in her political endeavors,” said Mayor Parris. “It is also an exciting season for the City of Lancaster. Having recently achieved our Zero Net Energy status, and in the midst of accomplishing our Smart City projects, Lancaster is breaking new ground while continuing our commitment to innovation. We are inviting local residents to join us in these efforts and apply for the upcoming City Council vacancy.” 

Residents who are interested in applying to become a City of Lancaster Council Member are able to download the City Council Application form from the City’s website, Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications on or before December 4, 2019.
