The IMPACT Initiative
The IMPACT Initiative addresses beautification of the community, a top priority of the Mayor and Council, as well as City Administration, moving forward into Fiscal Year 2019/20. The City of Lancaster’s IMPACT Initiative will plan, create, contribute and support activities and innovative programs that transform the visual character of our City.
Through the combined efforts of City staff and various stakeholders, we can develop and implement strategic and tactical programs utilizing a coordinated holistic approach that results in renewed civic pride.
IMPACT envisions a community where blighted area are substantially eliminated. Collaboratively, the team is committed to investing in visual improvements to instill civic pride and enhance social trust citywide. The team recognized that in order truly transform Lancaster’s community and achieve its goals, it would require manpower. After brainstorming and research, the IMPACT team developed Summer of IMPACT.
Summer of IMPACT
A Student Scholarship Program
Summer of IMPACT is an innovative solution that engages the community. The program provides students the on-the-job training and experience they need to succeed while working with public agencies. The goal is to provide local youth an opportunity to be a part of the IMPACT initiative working hand-in-hand with City officials.
Summer of IMPACT is intended to create a big impact during a short period of time. The goal is to address community concerns and enhance the quality of life of our residents, the City of Lancaster’s IMPACT Initiative will plan, create, contribute and support activities and innovative programs that transform the visual character of our City.
To be successful in this role, you must: have a strong desire to solve problems, a passion for innovation and a commitment to deliver creative solutions.
- Work with agile development processes
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify community needs
- Assist with market research
- Incorporate community feedback into new programs
- Develop marketing documents
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate team members
- Strong organizational skills
Summer of IMPACT is a 10-week program designed for high school and college students. Scholarships will be awarded based on a minimum hour requirement.
Information sessions will take place on April 19 and May 3 at Lancaster City Hall, Council Chambers from 3-4 PM.
Start date is June 17.
